Here are the rules we'll be using to start the draft. The clock will be turned on starting tomorrow, Tuesday March 2nd.
Draft clock runs from 8 AM (EST) through 1 AM (EST), with the clock being paused during the 7 hours off overnight. You can make a pick during that time, it just won't count against your clock. You are allowed 8 hours to post your pick once you are up, but please look forward and if you know you won't be around, send a list to myself, Russ or whomever picks right after you, so we can keep things moving. If everybody takes the full 8 hours, we'll finish the 25 round draft about the All-Star break. If you have one of the two snake picks, you are allowed the 8 hours to make both picks, not 16 to make them both. You are allowed one skip, but after that you will be set to auto-pick until you return, and you will be given the highest Yahoo rated player remaining. If you are skipped, you can make-up your picks upon return.
Once we get beyond the normal starters (roughly round 15) we'll cut down the draft clock to either 4 or 6 hours, as you should have some idea who you want on your bench.
To sum up:
Draft Clock: 8:00 AM (ET) / 5:00 AM (PT) to 1:00 AM (ET) / 10:00 PM (PT). 8 hour pick window. After 1 skip you are put on auto-pick

I like the auto pick rule, my question is, who is doing the auto picking? You or Russ, I'm assuming? If so, how will the picks be determined? Best available according to Yahoo?

Why not today? I don't want to have to wait until tomorrow afternoon to make my pick We're not starting today, as we just got all the keepers in this weekend, and I don't assume everybody is glued to the board at all hours of the day. This gives people who have yet to know we are starting a little bit of a chance to join in. Also, I hate skipping people's first round picks, as it turns into an instant team that isn't active for the whole season. Also, just because people are allowed 8 hours to make their pick, lets not try to hold things up. I understand if something comes up that doesn't allow you to make your pick, but if you know you are likely to be up shortly, and know you won't be around for a lengthy period of time, send a list to Russ or I, and we'll get your pick in.

Are we going to auto-pick for someone who is skipped a 2nd time, as in Grady's case as he'll be skipped yet again in about an hour.

Are we going to auto-pick for someone who is skipped a 2nd time, as in Grady's case as he'll be skipped yet again in about an hour. I take it he didn't send you a list? I think the way I would interpret my own rule, is that if you are skipped, and don't make an appearance before your next pick, then yes, you are on auto-pilot until you come back. As he made an appearance, and made his pick for the previous round, he's back to square one, in my interpretation of the rule.
