Since yahoo got rid of the Plus leagues, this means there are a lot more options for league customization this year. I recall from years past, that Guzz suggested we switch to a 1 Win system, but it has yet to be available as a choice. Now we have this option. What do you all want to do? Oh, and Roto is not an option, as I hate roto leagues, as nobody follows their team past about June 1st.
As usual, we'll go with majority rules, so if the 1 Win option gets 7 votes, we'll change it. Also, please post after you vote, so I know who has and hasn't voted yet.

I have no problem changing my vote at a later date. If I understand this correctly, if you win 7 of the 12 categories then you get the win. I really like the idea of getting rid of the 12-0 scores when someone gives up, but I don't like the idea of someone just drafting for the statistic. Maybe this can promote more balance...I kind of think it goes against that.

Lets just skip the formalities and put me and Guzz in our own division. We'll play each other every week and the winner wins the league, loser gets 2nd, the rest of you can battle for 3rd.

Lets just skip the formalities and put me and Guzz in our own division. We'll play each other every week and the winner wins the league, loser gets 2nd, the rest of you can battle for 3rd. We don't need 6 months to delay the inevitable yearly showdown! I like the 1 win idea, I think it's what makes football more entertaining (not being behind 40 games and all) though obviously football is the easy league to stay on top of since updates are so minimal. I think if we do go this route we need an innings pitched cap (to prevent the ugly 50 pitcher rotation... yes I realize I'm one of the abusers at times! ) as well as a realistic minimum. Something like 25 innings minimum, 65 innings max (these are just guestimations). I also wish we would implement the new SVHD (Saves + Hold, I know ESPN has it, not sure about yahoo) HITTERS H, HR, RBI, SB, OPS, R (hits replaces average and favors active users) PITCHERS W, SVHD (newer stat), ERA, K, WHIP, and maybe a new category like Quality Starts (I don't think we've used it before, I could be wrong). Basically, lets shake things up a bit and make things more entertaining. I'm all up for other ideas to re-invent fantasy baseball because we all know it can become a chore at times to stay active.

I tend to agree with Guzz here. If you're 40 games behind in August (or even 20), how many of you regularly check your team and try to compete week to week? That's really the crappy thing about scoring 12 categories (or whatever) individually. I think 1 week 1 win will keep things more competitive throughout the year.

Re: Guzz
There is no option for Saves+Holds as a single stat in yahoo this season. Here are the other potentially viable stat categories for pitchers (I'm not even going to list the ridiculous ones).
* Games Started * Innings Pitched * Losses * Complete Games * Outs * Hits * Earned Runs * Walks * Save Chances * Total Bases Allowed * Strikeouts per Walk Ratio * Strikeouts per Nine Innings * Singles Allowed * Doubles Allowed * Triples Allowed * Relief Wins * Relief Losses * Relief Appearances * On-base Percentage Against * Hits Per Nine Innings * Walks Per Nine Innings * Save Percentage * Quality Starts * Blown Saves * Net Saves
----------------- I'm all for trying new categories, but I want to make sure we make Middle Relief/Setup guys have some value as well, so its not just a grab every possible closer.

Re: Guzz (again)
I can't set a max IP per week limit, only a minimum. The way I was going to try to address this issue of using 28 SPs in the playoffs was to limit the number of waiver moves a week to something like 4 or 5.

I vote for Triples Allowed. Most of the pitchers in my watch list are experts at not allowing triples.

I like the addition of Quality Starts but I guess we'll need to keep Holds in there to make your set up man useful.

And it looks like we'll be keeping the same scoring structure as last season, as it's not possible for the new idea to reach a majority.
